In the summer of 2009 Marcos Mendosa performed at an event held by OLAS (Organization of Latin American Students). The event was called “SOUNDS OF SOLIDARITY -  AVANCEMOS JUNTOS”.  OLAS will be donating all funds from “Avancemos Juntos” to tutoring and educational programs in Toronto, which are aimed at promoting higher education among Latino youth. Their  initiative for this year is to increase awareness of the rising high school drop-out rate that is currently affecting the young Latino population in Toronto.
